Case Study:
Creative Flair and Event-Planning Finesse Construct One-of-a-Kind Building Dedication Ceremony

To officially mark the move to its newly constructed headquarters facility, a national financial cooperative  planned a special building dedication ceremony. The event acknowledged two important yet distinct audiences – the organization’s national financial supporters and its new local neighbors and business colleagues.

The leadership of MJB Public Relations Group developed and managed the special event: a formal, plated breakfast for 120 guests. To highlight the unique role of the cooperative financial system to attending guests – many of whom were unfamiliar with them - the event included several educational opportunities, including a historical video, print materials, and presentations.

To mark the significance of the event, proclamations from the mayor and the state's governor were read during the ceremony, and the organization’s U.S. congressional representative entered remarks into the Congressional Record. The event also honored five early pioneers of the national movement as “architects” in the industry.

In addition, MJB leadership helped shape the ceremony to showcase the financial institution’s “hometown” commitment. A number of local business and government leaders attended, and several neighboring businesses and other organizations were asked to provide various services. The area's National Guard presented the colors.
